Our adventure girl Brownie

Well y'all, last weekend we had quite the non fun adventure kind. You know how goat's enjoy escaping out of their pens sometimes. Well Friday while I was at work, my husband and kids fed our goat's about 5pm and I usually go out after work to check on everyone and because I just love to get loved on by the goats every day. I noticed that we were missing Brownie, but she is so small I thought we just couldn't see find her. I started panicking and of course it was getting dark. So we looked as long as we could and decided it was too dark to be able to find her. I hated the thought that something had gotten her or that she just couldn't find her way back.

So that night I honestly tossed and turned all night feeling like the worst goat mom ever because she was only 3 months old and the guilt was eating me alive. The next morning we searched everywhere, calling for her.. banging on the food barrel and not a peep. So I just took it for what it was and assumed there was no hope in finding her. I was so upset, but I didn't want the kids to see it of course.

About 3pm our neighbor came running to our gate, so I told my husband and I was to scared to see what they said until I saw him take off. The kid's and I all took off and we found our sweet Brownie girl. The only thing I can think of is because she is so little she squeezed through and the neighbors dogs saw and chased her to under their shed. She slept out there alone all night and was outside by herself most of the day.

Her back leg is pretty sore, but she is going to thankfully be ok!! She stayed inside with us for some catering the rest of the day, but kept demanding to be with her herd. So we took her out back and all of the doe's respectfully gave her needed space to heal and she is thriving and doing great!! I am so thankful we found her.
